Environment Group Definition
By Christian Nold • Jul 10th, 2008 • Category: Environment GroupQUESTIONS:
How are the local people engaged with their surroundings? What effect does the environment have? Who uses the river area? Why is it being used? Are there environmental pollutants in the area? How could we measure them? Who holds the data for this sort of thing? Who is resoponsible for dealing with it? What could local people do to engage with possible pollution? How do we visulise all the relevant actors in this network?
METHOD:
1. COLLECT: get an insight into the “actors” that shape this particular space
2. VISUALISE: visualise the network focussed on the environment
3. ANALYSE: use the visualisation to identify under-used potentials and hazards
4. PROPOSE: propose a improved role for environmental assets in future plans
SUGGESTIONS:
Try and get environmental data for the area by contacting the local government and by experimenting (PH-levels, …) on site. Try and work out the previous use of the site which could still have an impact. Get in touch with the allotments organisation. Talk to current users of the site.
OUTCOMES:
A final visualisation that:
1 Gives an insight into your process
2 Communicates your insights clearly to our project partner as well as the local residents and a broader intersted audience
